Dr. Blashill received his Ph.D. in 2011. Despite being a student in the Clinical Psychology program, he conducted his Master’s thesis and dissertation research in the Gender Cognitions and Development Lab, studying college students’ sexual orientation-related stereotypes and their reactions to people who violate traditional gender roles and/or who are gay or lesbian . Since graduation, he was first a Post-Doctoral Fellow and then an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Staff Psychologist in the Behavioral Medicine Service at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.  Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at San Diego State University.
