Dr. Sanborn-Overby received her Ph.D. in 2014. As part of the Gender Cognitions and Development Lab, she studied gender-related leadership styles, investigating how adults react to male and female child leaders using these styles. She also conducted research on reactions to gender-stereotype violations, with a particular interest in understanding why both children and adults tend to react more negatively when males violate gender stereotypes than when females do.  Currently she is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at SUNY Oneonta.
